Police Launch Manhunt After Serious Sex Attack in Portsmouth Underpass
PORTSMOUTH police are hunting a man involved in a brutal sexual assault in the city’s Lake Road underpass.
Attack in Early Hours Sparks Urgent Appeal
The shocking attack took place between 3 and 5am on Thursday, January 14, in the Buckland area of Portsmouth. A 26-year-old woman was targeted during the assault, suffering serious sexual abuse along with grazing and bruising to her body.
Suspect Description Released
Police are eager to trace a man described as around 5ft 11ins tall with a muscular build. He was part of a group of men walking through the underpass at the time.
Police Call for Witnesses
Julie Knight, police spokeswoman, urged the suspect or anyone who saw the group to come forward. “We want to speak to anyone who was in the underpass during the early hours, especially those who recognise this man,” she said.
