Woman, 40s, Assaulted After Asking for Directions in Early Hours
A woman in her 40s was horrifically attacked after asking a stranger for directions on Northern Parade between 1 and 2am. The man walked alongside her briefly before committing the assault.
Suspect Description: Young Man in Grey Tracksuit
- Age: 22 to 24 years old
- Build: Average height and physique
- Hair: Blonde tuft at the front
- Clothing: Grey tracksuit
Police Appeal for Witnesses and Footage
Detective Inspector Richard Gibson of Hampshire Constabulary’s Operation Amberstone urged residents to come forward. “If you were in the area on Wednesday between 1 and 2am and saw anything suspicious, please get in touch,” he said.
He added, “We understand it was early morning, but there would still be vehicles and homes with CCTV or dash cams that might have caught vital footage.”
Residents near Northern Parade, Gladys Avenue, or Magdalen Road are asked to check any Ring Doorbell or dash cam footage. Your tip, no matter how small, could be crucial.
