Murder Probe Launched After Man Found Dead in Hackney

A murder investigation is underway after a man was found dead at a home on Homerton Road, E9, Hackney.

Suspect in Custody After Surrendering to Police

Police were tipped off when a man in his 50s turned himself in at a station shortly after 10:00am on Monday, 3 March. He has now been charged with murder and remains in custody.

The victim, believed to be a man in his 60s, was discovered by officers and the London Ambulance Service at the property. Formal ID and next of kin notifications are ongoing.

Victim and Suspect Known to Each Other

Authorities confirmed the two men knew each other and are not looking for any other suspects at this time. Investigations into the circumstances of the killing are still ongoing.

Acting Chief Superintendent Brigid Beehag-Fisher, overseeing Hackney and Tower Hamlets policing, said:
