Man Left with Fractured Eye Socket After Brutal Pub Assault in West London

Detectives are hunting for witnesses after a vicious attack outside the Elm Pub on North End Road, W14, left a 55-year-old man seriously injured.

Attack Sparks Chaos After Pub Closes

The drama unfolded at 10pm on July 11, just as the Elm Pub shut its doors to the public. While those inside were finishing their drinks, a suspect showed up and tried to get in but was refused entry.

The victim stepped outside for a cigarette — and that’s when he was abruptly punched in the face.

Witness Intervenes as Attack Escalates

An eyewitness rushed outside only to find the victim being kicked and stamped on. The brave bystander pulled the attacker off and called the police.

Officers found the man with severe head injuries. Another witness was already on scene, performing first aid.

Suspect Arrested But Claims Self-Defence

The victim was rushed to a central London hospital, where doctors confirmed a fractured eye socket and four stitches to his head.

The suspect stayed put and was arrested for grievous bodily harm. At a West London police station, he claimed self-defence but has since been bailed pending further investigation.

Detective Constable Natalie Steele from Hammersmith and Fulham CID urged anyone who saw the attack to come forward. “We need a full picture of what happened,” she said.

Witnesses are asked to call 101 quoting reference 9198/11 July or contact Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
