Crime crackdown on Isle of Wight as National Crime Agency swoops on Ventnor
Officers from the UK National Crime Agency (NCA) launched a dramatic raid on a Ventnor property this Thursday, seizing several items as part of a high-profile probe. One man was arrested, questioned, and later released under investigation.
Major Raid in Ventnor
Members of the agency, formerly known as the Serious Organised Crime Agency (SOCA), spent hours combing through a local address. Residents said officers carried away multiple evidence bags amid the low-key operation.
“There must have been about ten of them,” said one neighbour. “They wore black boiler suits and seemed to know exactly what they were after. It was all very quiet and professional.”
Neighbours Speak Out
The occupants of the property keep to themselves but are known as “very nice people” by locals, who say they always make a point of saying hello.
NCA Confirms Investigation Ongoing
A spokesperson for the NCA said: “The National Crime Agency are conducting enquiries at an address on the Isle of Wight. This is part of an ongoing investigation. No further details are available at this time.”
The NCA tackles serious organised crime including human trafficking, weapons smuggling, drug crimes, cyber offences, and cross-border economic crimes. They can also investigate any criminal activity requiring expert attention.
