Essex Police Declare Dispersal Order as Large Crowd Descends on Southend Beach
Massive Group Sparks Police Action
Essex Police have slapped a dispersal order after a big crowd gathered unexpectedly on Southend beach. The influx followed coaches originally meant for Bradwell-on-Sea turning up at the seaside instead.
Music Gear Seized, Party Plans Thwarted
Officers swooped early, confiscating all music equipment to stop any unauthorised raves. Without the kit, revellers were left without a soundtrack to their gathering.
Police Clampdown Across 4.5-Mile Stretch
The dispersal order covers a 4.5-mile fence from Shoebury’s Uncle Tom’s Café all the way to Chalkwell Beach. It will remain active until 6am tomorrow, with cops stopping vehicles suspected of heading to the event.
Chief Supt. Issues Strong Warning
“Following our enforcement action earlier, a number of vehicles including coaches have arrived in Southend,” said Chief Superintendent Glen Pavelin. “We have orders giving us power to move people on and seize equipment linked to unauthorised events.”
“We know some are trying to get their hands on music gear – but we’re determined to stop that.”
“These visitors have travelled from outside Essex and their thoughtless actions have forced us to redirect resources to Southend beaches. We have the numbers to manage this while our local teams carry on protecting communities.”
“Thanks to local residents for their support and patience during this incident.”
