Blaze Destroys London Maisonette Above Shops
A three-roomed, split-level maisonette on the second and third floors went up in flames last night in a dramatic fire. Seven people from the neighbouring property managed to escape before the London Fire Brigade arrived. Thankfully, no injuries were reported.
Fire Rips Through Bedroom, Spreads Upstairs
A London Fire Brigade spokesperson revealed the blaze broke out in a bedroom on the lower floor before climbing the stairs into the loft space. “On arrival, crews found a well-developed fire with smoke pouring from upper floor windows,” they said.
Rapid Response Quells Flames
The fire was reported at 8.11pm and brought under control by 9.40pm. Firefighters from Twickenham, Heston, and Feltham stations rushed to the scene to battle the inferno.
Investigation Underway
Both the London Fire Brigade and Metropolitan Police Service are probing the cause of the blaze. The investigation is ongoing as residents count their lucky stars no one was hurt.
