Big Drug Bust Shakes Bestwood
Bestwood neighbourhood officers teamed up with the City North Operation Reacher squad for a crack-down on drugs. Acting on fresh intel, they swooped on a Walgrave Walk address at 9 a.m. yesterday (17 January) with a Misuse of Drugs Act warrant in hand.
Class A Suspected, Trio Arrested
During the search, officers seized suspected Class A drugs. Three men aged 30 and two aged 40 were arrested on suspicion of conspiracy to supply and possession with intent to supply Class A drugs.
All suspects have been interviewed and released pending further inquiries.
Sgt Taylor Sends a Message to Dealers
“Yesterday’s warrant disrupted drug activity and removed dangerous Class A substances from our streets,” said Bestwood Sergeant Katie Taylor. “We’re sending a strong message to anyone involved in drugs in Bestwood: we see you, and we’re taking action to keep the community safe.”
“This shows our commitment to making Bestwood safer and ensuring residents feel protected and heard. Every drug haul we seize tackles associated crime causing misery in the area.”
