Crash on Marine Drive Sends Woman to Hospital

Police are hunting for witnesses after a nasty collision in Ovingdean, Brighton left a woman badly injured.

The smash happened on Tuesday, March 12, around 8 p.m. A Volkswagen Camper van slammed into a stationary Smart car on the westbound side of Marine Drive, between the Ovingdean roundabout and Brighton Marina.

Driver Suffers Serious Injuries but Released

The Smart car driver, a woman in her 30s, was rushed to hospital with serious injuries. Thankfully, she has since been discharged, but her injuries were severe enough to raise alarm.

Suspect Arrested for Drug Driving

A 39-year-old woman from Lancashire was arrested on suspicion of drug driving and causing serious injury by careless driving. She has now been released on bail as police continue their investigation.
