Chaos on the M25: Three Lanes Shut Near Dartford Tunnel After Police Incident
Drivers face heavy delays on the M25 near the Dartford Tunnel after a police-led incident shut three lanes and the hard shoulder early Saturday morning.
Major Closure Blocks Anti-Clockwise Carriageway
The drama began around 3am near the Bow Arrow Lane footbridge, forcing Kent Police to shut all lanes of the anti-clockwise carriageway for 25 minutes. Three lanes remain closed between junction 2 and junction 1A on the A282 Canterbury.
Highways England has put hard road closures in place over a five-mile stretch. The closures are expected to last for some time, causing massive disruption for motorists.
Wrong-Way Car Fuels Trouble
A black Ford Focus is spotted facing the wrong way on the hard shoulder, while a single police vehicle flashes blue and rear red emergency lights.
The Highways Agency hopes to clear the incident and reopen the carriageway by 6.30am, but warns this is only an estimate.
Motorists Urged to Reroute
Drivers planning to use the Dartford crossing are advised to check travel updates and consider alternative routes to avoid being caught in the chaos.
Kent Police have been approached for comment.
