Nottinghamshire Launches Youth Outreach Team to Boost Local Kids
Nottinghamshire’s new youth outreach team, led by Romel Davis, is on a mission to support young people aged 8 to 16 across the county. Their goal? To build bridges between the police, communities, and youngsters while offering fresh opportunities and a positive influence.
Team Aims to Shape a Brighter Future
- Strengthen relationships between police, communities, and youth
- Offer exciting events, competitions, activities, and awards
- Help young people make smart, positive life choices
- Give young voices a powerful platform
The team also targets youngsters who have stumbled into the wrong crowd or criminal activity, giving them a chance to turn their lives around.
Launch Event Packed with Fun and Support
The team kicked off with a bang on Saturday 18 February at Crabtree Farm Community Centre, Bulwell. The launch drew a packed house and featured a DJ, live performances, sports activities, and a free raffle for all attending.
Attendees received the team’s first-ever merchandise, including T-shirts and bags proudly displaying their new logo—a vibrant design by 16-year-old Ayesha Azam. Her winning logo shows a diverse mix of hands holding up the globe with the words ‘youth outreach’ at its heart.
Romel Davis: “Proud Moment for All Involved”
“I am incredibly proud to see everyone’s hard work pay off with this official launch,” said Romel Davis from Nottinghamshire Police’s Citizens Policing Department. “It was amazing to see so many people come out and support our work with young people across Nottinghamshire. Watching Ayesha see her design come to life on merchandise was truly heartwarming. Our aim is to give young people a voice, and this brand helps us spread the word about the great projects ahead.”
