Chris McCausland Takes on the World (Reluctantly!)
Chris McCausland, the UK’s favourite reluctant traveller, is hitting the road in The Wonders of the World I Can’t See – a brand new four-part series that flips the travel script. Forget the usual sightseeing; Chris gets up close and personal with some of the planet’s most iconic landmarks in ways you’ve never seen before.
Celebrity Guests Turn Travel Upside Down
Each episode features a different celeb guest who joins Chris to guide him through these world wonders. But here’s the twist – they don’t just show him the sights. Instead, they use humour and a unique ‘audio description’ approach to engage Chris’s other senses. Will these star companions convince Chris that travel is more than just a photo op? Can they get him off the sofa and into adventure mode?
From Couch Potato to Global Explorer?
“I hate flying, can’t function in the heat, and can’t eat anything weird,” Chris admits. “To be honest, all I wanted to do was Gogglebox. But thanks to Channel 4 and 1 Mike for believing in me more than I believe in myself.”
Chris already won hearts on The Last Leg and 8 Out of 10 Cats Does 1. Now Channel 4 is giving him his first full entertainment series, with head of entertainment Phil Harris promising a bright new chapter for the comedian.
A Perfect Match for Channel 4’s Quirky Travel Vibe
Andrew Beint from Open Mike Productions shares the excitement: “We’re thrilled to team up with the brilliant Chris McCausland on this extraordinary and quintessentially Channel 4 travelogue series.” Expect laughs, surprises, and a fresh take on world travel.
