Shock Hit-and-Run Kills Young Boy in Donegal

A heartbreaking hit-and-run has claimed the life of nine-year-old Ronan Wilson on Saturday night in Bundoran, Co Donegal. The tragic crash happened just after 9.20pm on Atlantic Way.

Man in 20s Arrested as Investigation Rolls On

Ronan, from Kildress, Co Tyrone, was pronounced dead at the scene. Gardai moved quickly, cordoning off the area for a technical examination and putting traffic diversions in place.

A man in his twenties was arrested yesterday afternoon and is being questioned at a Donegal Garda station. Police also seized a vehicle for forensic checks, hoping to crack the case wide open.

Urgent Appeal for Witnesses and Dashcam Footage

Gardai have notified the State Pathologist, with a post-mortem planned at Sligo University Hospital to confirm the exact cause of Ronan’s death.

The force is urgently calling for witnesses to come forward. They want anyone who saw the hit-and-run or has dashcam footage from Atlantic Way and Sea Road around the time of the crash to get in touch.

Gardai are also appealing directly to the driver involved to do the right thing and cooperate immediately.
