A dramatic car fire has sent huge plumes of smoke billowing over the M27 with fears the flames may have spread to nearby trees. Two lanes of traffic have been closed off with queues of cars starting to back up on the motorway. The car blaze is believed to be between Junction 10 and Junction 9 Near Fareham. Fire crews from Hampshire Fire and Rescue Stationed at Fareham are at the scene tackling the blaze. Huge clouds of black and grey smoke billowing over both carriageways of the motorway, with an indistinguishable car ablaze. Firefighters can be seen attempting to tackle the blaze as vehicles pass by on the Westbound carriageway. Some drivers shared concerns the blaze had set alight to a nearby field, which caught fire as flames spread. Firefighters are currently using two hose reels and two Breathing Apparatus to tackle the fire.
