Moron Driver Ryan Vincent Banned After Shocking Southampton Smash
A reckless driver has been banned after causing a terrifying crash that shut a key Southampton road for hours. Ryan Vincent, 33, from Holbury, was convicted at Aldershot Magistrates Court of driving without due care and attention – and without insurance.
Crash Chaos on the A35
On December 27 at 1.15pm, Vincent was behind the wheel of a blue BMW on the A35 heading out of Southampton. He tried to overtake a Peugeot on the wrong side and lost control. His car smashed into the nearside barrier before rebounding, hitting the Peugeot and then crashing into the central reservation.
Momentum sent the BMW flying airborne onto the eastbound lane, where it collided with a Volkswagen and a Citroen before landing upside down on its roof.
Miraculously, no one suffered serious injuries. Vincent himself escaped with minor wounds.
Judge Brands Crash ‘Horrifying’
The court saw dashcam footage capturing the carnage. The chair magistrate described the scene as “horrifying”. Vincent was slapped with a 14-day driving ban for careless driving and picked up six points for driving without insurance. He was also fined £320, and ordered to pay £40 court costs plus a £20 victim surcharge.
Police Warn of Deadly Consequences
PC Mike McRoyall of Totton Roads Policing Unit said: “This was a serious collision that closed a major Southampton route for hours, causing huge disruption. It could have been completely avoided if Vincent had driven with care instead of recklessly overtaking.”
“As shown in the dash cam footage, it was a terrifying crash for all involved, many innocent road users just minding their own business. It was sheer luck no one was seriously hurt.”
“We hope sharing this footage sends a clear message: one careless decision can wreck lives. It’s simply not worth the risk. We will take action to ensure justice is served.”
The dashcam footage has been released publicly to highlight the devastating impact of reckless driving.
