In a tragic turn of events, emergency services responded to reports of a woman falling from a cliff near Brighton Marina on Thursday morning. The incident, which occurred around 8 a.m. on the A259 at Roedean, prompted a significant emergency response involving the East Sussex Fire & Rescue Service, Sussex Police, and the South East Coast Ambulance Service.
Despite the swift intervention of emergency responders, the woman, reported to be in her 50s, was pronounced deceased at the scene. The shocking incident led to a temporary closure of the road, causing disruptions to local traffic.
A spokesperson for Sussex Police conveyed the sombre news, stating, “Emergency services were called to the cliffs at Brighton Marina today (February 22) at around 8 a.m. to concerns for the welfare of a woman. A woman in her 50s fell from the cliff and has sadly been confirmed deceased. Her next of kin has been informed and the death has been passed to the coroner.”
