Large Pride Flags Outside Forest Gate Station Vandalised Twice in One Week
Police were called early on Sunday, 23 June after a giant Pride flag painted on the pavement outside Forest Gate Railway Station, Woodgrange Road, E7, was vandalised.
The same location suffered another blow on Wednesday, 26 June when two more Pride flags were targeted with red paint. All three flags showed clear signs of criminal damage.
Police Hunt Suspect Caught on CCTV Wearing Distinctive Clothes
Detective Inspector James Rush of the North East Public Protection team, leading the probe, said: “We believe the same individual is responsible for both attacks, which happened between 5:00 and 5:30 AM on 23 and 26 June.”
He revealed police released an image of the suspect, captured on CCTV on 26 June. Though the person’s face is covered, DI Rush urged locals to help identify them by their distinctive clothing.
“If you recognise this person—maybe a local customer or neighbour—please come forward. We understand talking to police can be daunting, but information will be handled sensitively. You can also pass details anonymously to Crimestoppers.”
No Arrests Yet as Investigation Intensifies
