Woman Arrested After Stabbing in Wallingford High Street
A 61-year-old woman has been arrested following a stabbing incident in Wallingford town centre.

Police and paramedics rushed to High Street at around 1:25pm on Friday after reports of a woman in her sixties being stabbed.
The victim was swiftly taken to hospital with injuries that are not believed to be life-threatening.
Arrest Made at the Scene
Officers detained a 61-year-old Oxfordshire woman at the scene. She is currently in police custody as inquiries continue.
A cordon remains in place on High Street, with police urging the public to avoid the area while the investigation unfolds.
Police Reassure Community
“We have made an arrest. The victim and the woman arrested know each other, and there’s no wider threat to the public,” said Inspector Rebecca Sargeant from Abingdon police station.
“We understand this will have caused concern, but this incident is isolated. The victim’s injuries are not life-threatening,” she added.
Local commander Superintendent Lis Knight added: “You’ll notice an increased police presence as we investigate. Please don’t be alarmed—it’s to reassure the community.”
She also asked local residents to avoid the cordoned area and thanked everyone for their patience.
