Christmas Crash Chaos on A34
Fire crews scrambled in the early hours of Christmas Day to a nasty smash on the A34 northbound between Wheatley and Bicester. A car collided with a lorry before veering off the highway, trapping the driver inside.
Dramatic Rescue Operation
Teams from Kidlington, Bicester, and Slade Park stations rushed to the scene. Using specialised cutting gear, firefighters chopped off the car roof to free the driver. The victim was handed over to South Central Ambulance Service paramedics for urgent care.
Road Closures and Delays
The A34 was shut down between junctions 8A and 9 from around 4:30am. Authorities have put a diversion in place and promised the highway will reopen as soon as possible. Commuters are warned to expect delays and follow the alternative routes.
