Tractor vs Bus Crash in Gravesend Sends 12 Kids to Hospital

A man has been arrested after a serious collision between a tractor and a bus in Gravesend left 12 children and the bus driver injured and rushed to hospital.

Crash on South Street Shakes Meopham

The smash happened just before 3.30pm yesterday (May 23) on the A227 South Street near Culverstone Green in Meopham. Emergency crews, including paramedics, an air ambulance, and Kent Fire and Rescue, raced to the scene.

One Child Seriously Injured, Others Hurt

The bus driver and 12 children were taken to hospital following the crash. Four more were treated by paramedics at the scene. One child remains in a serious but stable condition, while three others continue to receive care for serious injuries.

Arrest Made Over Dangerous Driving

A 33-year-old man from East Sussex was arrested on suspicion of causing serious injury by dangerous driving. He was later bailed pending further police investigation.

Kent Police’s Serious Collision Unit (SCIU) is leading the probe. Officers are appealing for witnesses and anyone with dashcam or phone footage of the crash to come forward.
