Serial Child Sex Offender Stephen Lott Jailed Again for Shocking Abuse
Stephen Lott, a convicted child sex offender with 22 prior convictions, has been locked up once more. In 2016, he molested two young girls aged five and eight at South Kensington station. After serving time, Lott shockingly returned to abusive behaviour late last year.
Groomed 8-Year-Old Boy Over Nine Months
Over a nine-month period in Over, Lott groomed an eight-year-old boy, showering him with presents. He later kissed the child and tried to lure him to his home for more abuse. Lott claimed the kiss was accidental, but a jury saw through his lies and convicted him of sexual assault and grooming.
Judge Slams Lott’s ‘Deluded’ Apology, Labels Him ‘Predatory’
At Snaresbrook Crown Court on August 8, Lott blamed childhood loneliness for his crimes. Supported by family and a church official, he begged Judge Ross Cohen for mercy, claiming he wanted to make sci-fi YouTube videos.
“You delude yourself and others that your behaviour towards children is innocent. The sad truth, Stephen Lott, is that your behaviour is both sexualised and predatory.” – Judge Ross Cohen
Judge Cohen highlighted Lott’s history of horrific offences, including acts considered oral rape by today’s standards. The judge rejected his plea, condemning his dangerous behaviour.
Victim’s Mother Speaks Out: ‘I Feel Like I Failed My Son’
The mother of Lott’s latest victim read a heart-wrenching statement in court, revealing her shock and anxiety. “Steve never told me about his past convictions. It’s made me really anxious for my son. It’s been a horrible, disheartening time. I feel like a failure for not protecting him.”
Extended Sentence to Keep Public Safe
Judge Cohen declared Lott a “dangerous” offender, handing him a four-year prison sentence plus three years on licence. The parole board may review his case after two years and ten months, but he could remain behind bars for the full term if deemed unsafe. Upon release, Lott will be monitored until 2032.
The Metropolitan Police only released Lott’s latest custody image on September 10.
