At 1pm today, crews from Slade Park Fire Station, Rewley Road Fire Station and Kidlington Fire Station, backed by support vehicles across Oxfordshire and Buckinghamshire, raced to Denton after reports of a helicopter crash-landing.
Helicopter Lies on Side in Garden – Passengers Unharmed
Firefighters arrived to find the helicopter resting on its side in the rear garden of a private home. Miraculously, all four passengers had already escaped the wreck and were receiving care from the South Central Ambulance Service NHS Foundation Trust.
Pilot’s Quick Thinking Prevents Disaster
The pilot acted fast, cutting off the helicopter’s fuel lines and battery supplies. This crucial move stopped the situation from escalating, keeping the scene safe.
Fire crews stayed onsite to secure the area and enable a thorough investigation.

The Air Accidents Investigation Branch has launched an inquiry into the crash. They are working with Thames Valley Police to uncover what went wrong.
