Tragic Crash on A3 Near Wisley Leaves Man Dead

Police are hunting witnesses after a fatal smash on the A3 southbound near Wisley services. A white Audi, driven by a man in his 30s from Hampshire, veered off the road and crashed into a barrier around 8:50pm on May 1.

Man Dies at Scene Despite Rescue Efforts

Surrey Police and two off-duty paramedics desperately tried to save the driver, but he died at the scene. His next of kin have been informed. No other vehicles were involved in the collision.

Road Closures and Diversions in Place

Emergency crews, including Surrey Fire and Rescue and South East Coast Ambulance, worked through the night. The A3 was shut both ways to let the air ambulance land and for investigators to examine the scene.

The northbound carriageway has now reopened, but the southbound remains closed overnight. Drivers are diverted via Ockham Park and Ripley along the B2215 before rejoining the A3 at Burnt Common.

Police Appeal for Witnesses and Dashcam Footage

  • Anyone who saw the collision or the white Audi’s driving between 8:30pm and 8:50pm is urged to come forward.
  • The car is believed to have joined the A3 from the M25 anticlockwise at Junction 10.
  • Witnesses with dashcam footage are especially asked to contact Surrey Police.
