At around 3:50am on Monday, April 9, police were called to a Collier Row address after a man threatened violence and claimed he had a gun. Armed officers arrived but were told the suspect had fled the scene, still carrying a firearm.

Suspect shot dead in rising tension

Just before 4:45am, officers confronted a man believed to be in his 40s near Collier Row Road and Lodge Lane. Police opened fire, fatally wounding the suspect, who was pronounced dead at 5:17am.
