Hero Passer-by Urged to Come Forward After Teen Girl Attacked in Alley
Police are urgently appealing for a man who stopped a terrifying attack on a 15-year-old girl and made sure she got home safely to come forward.
Attack in Finchley Alley
At around 5.30pm on Wednesday, 7 October, the schoolgirl was walking home along The Causeway, N2, when three teenage boys smoking nearby began following her. They grabbed her and pinned her against a wall. One of the males then sexually assaulted her before they fled when disturbed by a passer-by.
The brave man escorted the victim to East Finchley station and saw her onto a bus. Police say he may hold vital information to catch the assailants. He is described as a white man, around 40 years old, slim build, wearing sports trousers and carrying a blue bag. Officers suspect he might have been heading to the gym.
