Teen Found Guilty of Murdering 14-Year-Old Jaden Moodie in Brutal Leyton Attack

Ayoub Majdouline, 19, has been convicted of murdering 14-year-old Jaden Moodie, who was violently hunted down, struck by a car, and stabbed multiple times in Leyton, east London. The terrifying attack happened after Jaden was deliberately knocked off his moped.

Deliberate Hit and Stab Attack

On the evening of Tuesday, 8 January, Jaden was riding his moped on Bickley Road, Leyton, when a black B-class Mercedes rammed him head-on. The impact threw Jaden onto the car’s bonnet, knocking off his helmet. Moments later, four masked males – including Majdouline wearing yellow gloves – jumped from the car and stabbed Jaden nine times in just seven seconds while he lay helpless on the ground.

The gang fled the scene in the Mercedes, leaving Jaden bleeding out in the street. Despite frantic efforts from emergency services and bystanders, Jaden was pronounced dead at 7.09pm, the post-mortem revealing fatal stab wounds and hypovolemic shock.

Fast-Paced Murder Investigation Unearths Critical Evidence

Homicide detectives launched an immediate murder probe. The stolen Mercedes was found abandoned nearby with frontal damage and CCTV caught the suspects calmly walking away. Blood-stained knives, matches to Jaden’s DNA and Majdouline’s, were recovered from drains close to the car.

Majdouline was seen on CCTV shortly after the murder buying a soft drink, still wearing key clothing from the attack. Police later found burnt clothing in a local churchyard, including trainers and a drawstring bag linked to Majdouline.

He was arrested at his Wembley home on 19 January. Despite answering ‘no comment’ in interviews, the overwhelming evidence led to his conviction for murder and possession of an offensive weapon at the Old Bailey on 11 December.

Police Vow to Nab All Those Involved

Detective Inspector Dave Hillier said: “Majdouline and his accomplices went out with clear intent to cause serious harm. After ramming Jaden off his moped, they stabbed him repeatedly without mercy and left him to die in the street.”

“They tried to cover their tracks, but we linked Majdouline to the murder through CCTV and forensic evidence. The jury saw the truth. Our investigation continues to bring all responsible to justice.”

Detective Chief Superintendent Richard Tucker added: “Jaden was a child with his whole life ahead of him. His brutal murder shocked the community. We must work together to end knife crime and senseless violence.”

Two other men, aged 24 and 21, arrested on suspicion of murder remain released under investigation as police continue their inquiry.
