A tragic smash on the A16 has claimed the life of an 82-year-old man and left his passenger injured.

Single-Car Crash Hits Near Louth Road

The horror unfolded around 1.10pm on Friday, 21 November, near the Louth Road junction. A red Citroen, heading towards the Louth Road roundabout, suddenly veered off the road and smashed into a lamp post.

Driver Dies at Scene, Passenger Injured

The elderly driver, 82, was pronounced dead at the scene. His 80-year-old female passenger suffered minor injuries and was treated at the scene.

Police Launch Urgent Witness Appeal

Humberside Police are urgently seeking witnesses. A spokesperson said:

“We would appeal for anyone who may have been in the area around the time of the collision, who has dashcam footage or witnessed the collision and has not yet spoken to us, to contact us on our non-emergency number 101 quoting log 223 of 21 November.”
