Fireworks Display Sparks Massive Grass Blaze on Isle of Sheerness
A fireworks stunt went spectacularly wrong at Barton Point Coastal Park, Sheerness, igniting a huge grass fire. Two model aircraft carrying fireworks are reported to have sparked the blaze, which quickly spread across a vast area.

Smoke from the fire near Marine Parade is drifting over residential areas. Firefighters have urged locals to keep windows and doors shut to avoid inhaling the toxic fumes.
Kent Fire and Rescue Battle Enormous Fireground
Kent Fire and Rescue Service deployed five fire engines, a fogging unit, and an all-terrain vehicle to tackle the sprawling fire, which stretches roughly 400m by 250m.
Crews are using hose reel jets and beaters to control the flames. Thankfully, no injuries have been reported so far.
Firefighters Face Underground Battle with Scorching Heat
The fire remains active underground, with temperatures soaring above 150 degrees Celsius. Fire experts from the Technical Rescue Unit have brought in a drone equipped with a thermal imaging camera to pinpoint hidden hot spots and assist with the complex firefighting efforts.
