Police swooped on a Newark alley after a woman was robbed in broad daylight. The victim was targeted around 8.30pm on Sunday, August 13, in Warburton Street.
Thankfully, she escaped serious injury but was left shaken after losing her handbag, purse, and mobile phone to the attacker.
Man Arrested Over Newark Robbery
A 38-year-old man was arrested this morning on suspicion of robbery and is currently being held in custody.
Police Vow to Catch Crooks
Sergeant Simon Brooks of Nottinghamshire Police described the attack as “appalling” and “deeply upsetting” for the victim. He added, “We are determined to bring whoever did this to justice and I am pleased we now have a suspect in custody.”
