£150 Energy Boost for Park Home Residents
Park home residents across England, Scotland, and Wales can now claim a £150 energy payment through the annual Park Homes Warm Home Discount Scheme, run by Charis. This Ofgem-regulated programme, backed this year by E.ON Next, helps those without a direct energy account with their supplier cut energy costs.
Who Qualifies and Why It Matters
With around 110,000 park homes across the UK, many elderly and retired residents often suffer from fuel poverty. They pay site owners for electricity and usually have limited income. Poor insulation and old, inefficient electrical appliances leave them vulnerable to chilly winters and rising bills.
“Off-grid residents, like those in park homes, have missed out on vital financial support due to confusing eligibility rules,” says Jonathan Hunt, Charis Director of Client Services.
“Last year, around 68,000 park home households missed out on the £400 Energy Bill Support Scheme payment. This scheme targets exactly those overlooked households.”
How to Apply – Quick and Easy
Eligibility is for permanent park home residents who receive government benefits or have a household income under £18,723. Charis has teamed up with Lightning Reach, an online portal that makes applying simple and quick. The form takes just 15 minutes, and help is available for anyone unsure about applying online.
Applications are strictly first come, first served — so don’t hang about. Once funds run out, the scheme closes.
