Woman Dies After Moped Hits Cyclist in Hammersmith
A woman in her 40s has tragically died after being struck by a moped in Hammersmith on Friday evening.
Crash on King Street
Police were called to King Street, W6, at around 5:40pm following reports of a collision between a moped and a bicycle.
Victim Pronounced Dead at Scene
Emergency services found the cyclist with critical injuries. Despite the efforts of London Ambulance Service paramedics and London’s Air Ambulance team, she was pronounced dead at the scene.
Her next of kin have been informed.
Moped Rider Flees on Foot
The rider of the moped fled the scene on foot before police arrived. Officers from the Metropolitan Police Roads and Transport Policing Command are urgently investigating and trying to trace the suspect.
Police Appeal for Witnesses
Road closures remain in place on King Street as specialist collision investigators examine the area.
“We are urging anyone who witnessed the incident, or who may have dashcam or CCTV footage from the area, to come forward. Your information could be vital in tracing the rider involved and establishing exactly what happened,” said a Met Police spokesperson.
