Heroic RNLI Rescue off Eastbourne Pier
Eastbourne RNLI sprang into action last night, Sunday 1st May, at 7.30pm after urgent reports of a person in the water near Eastbourne Pier.
Swift Lifeboat Launch and Rescue
The crews launched both the Inshore and All-Weather Lifeboats immediately. The Inshore Lifeboat quickly spotted and hauled the casualty from the water. Lifesaving medical care was carried out on board without delay.
Casualty Safely Handed Over to Emergency Services
Once stabilised, the casualty was brought ashore and handed over to waiting ambulance personnel and a Coastguard Rescue Helicopter paramedic for further treatment.
A tense rescue, but expert crews ensured a safe outcome off Eastbourne Pier.
