Four men from Rotherham have been locked up for a combined 125 years after a savage attempted murder spree in Doncaster. The gang launched their violent assault on two victims in broad daylight, leaving one critically injured and the other lucky to escape serious harm.
Deadly Attack on Bentley Road
On 18 August 2021, the quartet drove to Bentley Road in a Nissan X-Trail and launched a horrifying attack. A 26-year-old man was stabbed and then shot in the abdomen, suffering life-threatening injuries. A second victim, 24, was also targeted by gunfire, with the bullet smashing a mobile phone held to his ear – he escaped with minor wounds.
Emergency services rushed both men to the hospital, and police swiftly secured the scene to collect vital evidence.
Crucial Evidence Seals the Fate of the Gang
- The Nissan used was registered at the Jebsons’ home, linking Samuel (25) and Oliver (28) directly to the crime.
- All four suspects – Samuel and Oliver Jebson, Callum Rogers (27), and Paul Oates (40) – had recently been at the address.
- Phone records revealed the group travelled from Rotherham to Doncaster just an hour before the attack and maintained contact throughout.
- Forensics tied clothing and bullet casings at the scene to Rogers and Oates, respectively.
- CCTV footage captured the ruthless assault in action.
The defendants denied all charges but were found guilty at Sheffield Crown Court on Friday 17 April.
Harsh Sentences Handed Down
The judge sentenced Paul Oates to 32 years behind bars. Samuel Jebson, Oliver Jebson, and Callum Rogers each got 31 years in prison. The ruthless attack left a lasting scar on the Doncaster community. Justice has been served – but the memories of that violent day linger.
