On 4th December 2024, chaos erupted on Privett Road, Gosport, when 87-year-old James Masson suffered a heart attack behind the wheel. His car crashed, leaving him with life-threatening injuries.
Quick-Thinking Cops Save Elderly Driver’s Life
Police were on the scene in seconds, launching into emergency CPR. An armed response unit arrived armed with a defibrillator. All five officers – including PC Williams, PC Cole, and PC Bark – battled to keep James alive until paramedics from South Central Ambulance Service took over.
Nearly a Year On: Hero Officers Celebrate James’ Miraculous Recovery
Thanks to this heroic teamwork, James has made a full recovery. Recently, three of the officers met James and his family for coffee and cake to mark his inspiring journey back to health.
“It was an absolute honour to meet James and hear about his incredible life,” said a spokesperson. “We are grateful to have witnessed his inspiring journey back to health.”
