Huge Fire Sends Black Smoke Across Northfleet

Residents in Snelling Avenue, Northfleet, have been evacuated after a massive fire ripped through the derelict Fleet Leisure and Sports Club on Nelson Road. The fire, which broke out at around 6.30pm on Tuesday, has sent towering plumes of black smoke visible for miles.

Six Fire Crews Battle Intense Blaze

Kent Fire and Rescue have deployed six fire engines and 35 firefighters to tackle the fierce fire at the now-closed leisure centre, shuttered since 2013. A spokesman urged locals to keep all windows and doors firmly shut amid the heavy smoke.

Injuries Unknown as Fire Rages On

Officials have not yet confirmed if anyone has been injured or is missing following the blaze. Emergency services remain on the scene, working to bring the fire under control and ensure everyone’s safety.
