Massive Warehouse Blaze Erupts in Croydon
A huge fire has erupted at a commercial warehouse on Imperial Way, Croydon, sparking a major emergency response early this morning.
Firefighters Battle Blaze – Roads Shut
The London Fire Brigade was called at 6.36am. Fire crews from Croydon, Purley, Norbury, Addington, and Mitcham rushed to the scene. Imperial Way is closed both ways as firefighters fight the fierce inferno.
The Brigade warns the blaze is expected to burn for several hours. They urged the public to stay clear due to thick smoke and heavy emergency vehicle activity.
Fire Brigade Speaks Out
“Firefighters are working hard to bring the fire under control. A significant section of the building is alight, and crews will remain on scene for some time. The cause of the fire is not yet known.”
Thankfully, no injuries have been reported so far.
Cause of Fire Still Unknown
Fire investigators will enter the site once it’s safe to determine what sparked the blaze. Meanwhile, motorists heading through South Croydon, especially around Purley Way and Imperial Way, are advised to find alternate routes and expect travel delays.
