A man in his 20s has died and a teenager is seriously injured following a collision on the eastbound M54 in Staffordshire, police confirmed on Friday morning. Emergency services were alerted after the injured teen was taken by ambulance from Smethwick to the hospital, where he remains with potentially life-threatening injuries.

West Mercia Police discovered a black Vauxhall Astra in woodland near the eastbound carriageway between junctions 3 and 2 within the Staffordshire border. The man was found inside the vehicle and later pronounced dead at the scene.
