Nigel Farage Scores First MP Win with Reform Party
Nigel Farage has finally clinched the Clacton seat for his Reform Party, winning a historic victory after eight election attempts. Farage secured 21,225 votes, smashing a majority of nearly 9,000, just as polls had predicted with a 95% chance of success.
Farage Topples Conservative Incumbent Giles Watling
Farage defeated Conservative Giles Watling, who had held Clacton since 2017. Watling trailed with 12,820 votes. The Reform Party is expected to pick up 13 seats tonight, according to exit polls, marking a breakthrough in UK politics.
Party Rocked by Racism Allegations and Candidate Resignations
The victory comes despite recent turmoil. Georgie David, Reform’s West Ham candidate, resigned accusing the party’s candidates of widespread racism, misogyny, and bigotry. She claimed the leadership ignored these issues.
“The vast majority of Reform candidates are racist, misogynistic, and bigoted,” said David.
A Reform spokesman hit back, calling David’s claims “unfair generalisations” and revealed she was a last-minute addition. They apologised to West Ham voters for any disruption.
Undercover Footage Sparks Further Controversy
Channel 4 secretly recorded Reform campaigners in Clacton making racist remarks about the Prime Minister, who is of Indian heritage. Farage promised to boot out the “bad apples,” blaming vetting failures by a third-party agency.
Despite the scandals, Farage’s triumph signals the Reform Party is a rising force, ready to shake up Westminster.
