Channel 4 Unleashes New Dog Training Show, The Dog Academy

Channel 4 has greenlit a brand-new series called The Dog Academy, thanks to its Global Format Fund aimed at boosting fresh UK indie formats for home and abroad.

Experts Tackle Britain’s Most Troublesome Dogs

The show will focus on the UK’s toughest dogs and their struggling owners. A team of Britain’s top dog trainers will step in, teaching owners key dog management skills and psychology to turn misdemeanors into miracles.

Separate Training to Build Better Bonds

Both dogs and owners receive tailored coaching designed to forge lasting, positive relationships. The cameras follow their progress as they put new skills to the test. The big question: can the experts help these pairs graduate healthy, happy, and ready for life together?

Inside The Dog Academy: What The Bosses Say

“The Dog Academy is a comprehensive and judgement-free place to solve an issue that a lot of viewers will be able to relate to – problematic pups. As well as helping the dogs and owners who come to the Academy, we hope our series will help viewers at home pick up loads of valuable tips and tricks too.” – Rita Daniels, Channel 4 Commissioning Editor

“What I think will make this series so special and revealing is the combination of top talent from the dog training world and top talent on the editorial team. We are really proud to be making it with Channel 4.” – Nick Mirsky, MD of Five Mile Films
