Person Hit by Train Near Shepherd’s Bush Sparks Major Chaos
A person was struck by a train near Shepherd’s Bush just before 12:45pm today (September 26). The incident has caused severe disruption, shutting all lines between London Euston and Watford Junction.
Trains Cancelled and Delayed for Hours
Services including Avanti West Coast trains to Birmingham, Manchester, Glasgow, and Edinburgh are either cancelled or delayed by up to 90 minutes. London Northwestern Railway journeys to Milton Keynes, Birmingham, and Crewe have also been hit hard.
Transport for London reports that Overground trains between Euston and Watford Junction are not running. Southern Rail services linking East Croydon and Watford Junction have been suspended too.
Disruption Set to Last All Day
Emergency teams remain on site, working through the afternoon to manage the situation. Authorities warn delays and cancellations will continue into the evening.
Official Statements
“It is with great sadness that we report a person has been hit by a train between Shepherd’s Bush and Watford Junction. All lines are currently blocked while emergency services respond,” said a Southern Rail spokesperson.
National Rail added: “To allow emergency crews to work safely, some lines remain closed. Major disruption is expected for the rest of the day.”
