Devon & Cornwall Police in Dawlish have released images of a man they are seeking to identify in connection with a recent arson incident that caused significant damage in the area. The incident took place at Barton Surgery car park in Dawlish, where several vehicles were engulfed in flames in the early hours of Friday, July 14.
Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue alerted the police about the fire, prompting an investigation into the incident. The lead investigative officer for the case, Detective Constable Kirsty Ampleford, stated that the police are eager to identify the individual captured in the images released.
“While we acknowledge that the images may not be crystal clear, we are hopeful that someone will recognise this person and provide us with valuable information,” said DC Ampleford. “The individual we are looking for may hold crucial details vital to our investigation.”
The arson attack resulted in the destruction of numerous vehicles that belonged to members of the local community. The loss of these vehicles has had a significant impact on the residents of Dawlish, as many relied on them for essential transportation.
DC Ampleford urged anyone with information related to the incident to come forward and assist the police in their investigation. The public’s cooperation is crucial in bringing the perpetrator to justice and shedding light on the circumstances surrounding the arson.
