Brazen Phone Heist Rocks Tranent Shop
Police are hunting a masked thief who smashed a display cabinet and snatched four expensive mobile phones from a Tranent High Street shop around 4pm on Saturday, 22 July.
Quick Escape Through Back Alleys
The crook made a swift getaway, first heading towards Church Street before possibly slipping through back alleys near Foresters Park. CCTV and witnesses may hold the key to his capture.
Suspect Description Released
- Height: About 5ft 10in
- Build: Slim
- Clothing: Dark hoodie, dark cap, face mask
- Distinctive Item: Bright red rucksack
Police believe the red rucksack could help identify the culprit.
Call to Witnesses and Dash-Cam Owners
Detective Constable Garry Mauran urged anyone who saw the robbery or spotted the suspect to come forward. Officers are also appealing to drivers in the area who may have caught the suspect’s escape on dash-cam.
“We are treating this robbery very seriously and need the public’s help to find the man responsible,” said DC Mauran.
There were no injuries during the incident, but the hunt is on to catch this daring thief.
