Three in Trouble Near St Anne’s Pier: Dramatic Rescue Operation Underway
HM Coastguard sprang into action after a frantic 999 call just before 6.40pm on 15th August. Three people were reported struggling in the water near St Anne’s Pier, Lancashire.
One of the trio made it to shore and was promptly checked by paramedics. But the search is far from over.
Massive Rescue Effort Launched
Coastguard teams from Lytham and Fleetwood were dispatched immediately, alongside the Caernarfon search and rescue helicopter. RNLI lifeboats from Lytham St Annes and Blackpool joined the hunt, plus the Southport independent lifeboat, Lancashire Police, and North West Ambulance Service.
Search Suspended Then Resumes at Dawn
The operation paused briefly in the early hours but resumed at first light. While the coastguard helicopter has left the scene, a police helicopter has taken over the aerial search.
The search continues as rescuers race against time to find the missing two.
