A woman in her late 20s or early 30s was allegedly snatched and forced into a white Ford Transit tow truck on Millharbour Road near the Lighterman’s Road junction on September 30.
Police acted fast, arresting a 42-year-old man from East 1 the very next day on suspicion of kidnap. He has since been released on bail as investigations continue.
Urgent Police Appeal for Kidnap Witnesses
Detective Inspector Grant Stevens is pleading with anyone in the Millharbour Road area, E17, on September 30 to come forward.
“We’re desperate to understand what happened and remain seriously concerned for the welfare of the young woman who has not yet been identified,” Stevens said. “If you saw anything suspicious or have CCTV or phone footage, please get in touch.”
