Speed Camera Torched in Dead of Night in Three Legged Cross

Between 3am and 3.20am on Wednesday 18 August 2021, a new-style speed camera on Ringwood Road, Three Legged Cross, was deliberately set on fire. The blaze caused serious damage before firefighters arrived to put it out.

Hefty Damage from Reckless Arson

Police Constable Matt Brennan of East Dorset Police slammed the attack, saying: “This reckless act has caused many thousands of pounds worth of damage to the camera.”

Police Hunt Witnesses and Dashcam Footage

PC Brennan appealed to anyone who saw the incident or drove past and captured suspicious activity on dashcam, or has CCTV footage, to come forward.
