Staffordshire Manager Locked Up for Sharing Sickening Child Abuse Pics
Dark Web Predator Exposed
A Staffordshire manager, Ian Worthington, was slapped with an eight-year prison sentence after investigators caught him sharing vile images of himself sexually abusing a child online. The horrifying content linked back to a device owned by an Australian sex offender already serving 22 years in jail since 2015.
Caught Red-Handed in Cannock
Worthington was arrested in November 2020 after the National Crime Agency (NCA) traced child sexual abuse material he uploaded to the dark web from his home in Cannock, near Birmingham.
- Police seized his phone, laptop, and other devices during a home raid.
- Forensic analysis uncovered 20,500 indecent images of children (IIOC), from category A to C – with A being the most severe.
- 135 Category B and 140 Category C images showed Worthington assaulting a child himself.
- He also shared these vile images with other paedophiles online.
Guilty and Behind Bars
Worthington admitted to multiple charges at Stafford Crown Court on 20 May, including:
- Sexual assault by touching a child under 13
- Making indecent images (categories A-C)
- Distributing category B and C images
He was sentenced to eight years and eight months in prison on Wednesday.
NCA Boss Warns: Online Abuse = Real-World Harm
“Online abuse material cannot exist without real-world exploitation of children,” said NCA operations manager Hazel Stewart. “There is a clear link between offenders seeking such material and committing sexual abuse. We have extensive capabilities for identifying the most dangerous offenders who use the dark web to remain anonymous. We will go to any length to ensure they face justice and that children are not exploited.”
