What aload of Rubbish in Faversham after Dustcart Catches Fire causing jams back to the M2 Motorway

Faversham Kent Monday 3rd July 2017 A dustcart was left totally gutted after a fire broke out behind the cab on the busy A2 on London Road Faversham during rush hour. The road was closed both ways for a short time traffic is now under the direction of Police whilst recovery of the gutted truck take place. The road is likely to remain single lane for some time due to the amount of oil and damage to the road. Rubbish collection came a halt on the London Road near to Upper St’ Ann’s Road when the driver realised it was burning. Two fire engines from near by Faversham attended just before 7.30am and the road was cordoned off to traffic with the help of police and  kent council workers. Crews battled the flames by breaking through the side of the truck and standing on its roof after its hydraulics failed and the back would not open. The driver of the truck – operated by Biffa Waste Services – was unharmed but the cause of the fire is not yet known.
