Baby Born in Car but Barely Breathing – Ambulance Heroes Save the Day!

A mother’s quick labour almost turned tragic when baby Chelsea arrived early in the family car – barely breathing. But thanks to the lightning-fast actions of two passing paramedics, both mum and newborn walked away safe and sound.

Drama on the Road: Early Arrival and Frantic Flag Down

Ameii-Lee Lockley, from Coseley, was being rushed to hospital by husband Robert when her waters broke and labour kicked off hard and fast. Realising they wouldn’t reach the hospital in time, baby Chelsea was born in the back of the car.

Thankfully, paramedics Anna Lisowska and Marius Faraji from Dudley happened to be passing. Robert flagged down the ambulance crew roadside for an emergency assist.

Paramedics’ Heroic Hands Brought Baby Back to Life

“A baby not breathing is every paramedic’s worst nightmare,” said Anna. “Despite my own emotions, I went into autopilot and used my training to save Chelsea.”

“To see and hold Chelsea again under such amazing circumstances feels indescribable. This little girl has a special place in my heart.”

Marius added: “While Anna worked with Chelsea, I focused on Ameii-Lee, who was bleeding badly and needed urgent care. We usually don’t hear back after hospital handover, so to reunite with them and know we helped felt incredible.”

Emotional Reunion and Happy Ending

On 6th April, the paramedics met the Lockley family again – healthy baby Chelsea now one month old, proud sisters Bethany and Amber by their side, and grateful parents Ameii-Lee and Robert full of thanks.

“Everything was a blur and I was terrified for Chelsea and myself,” Ameii-Lee recalled. “I felt such relief when the paramedics arrived and promised to keep us safe.”

“After recovering at home, I was desperate to find them and thank them for saving our lives. Meeting them again was overwhelming – we cannot thank them enough.”
