Police Launch Attempt Murder Probe in Portsmouth Following Stabbing

Police have launched a manhunt this evening, looking for three males who fled the scene after a man was stabbed in the city centre. Lake Road remains sealed-off after officers cordoned off the street just after 9pm. Residents report an altercation between four males in the 20s outside Cornwallis House at approximately 8.45pm. A black male was said to have been stabbed in the leg before the three other males fled the scene on foot. The victim was laying in Lake Road, bleeding heavily from his leg, before being rushed to QA Hospital by ambulance after being treated by paramedics at approximately 9.30pm. A Resident who asked not to be named said “I went down and asked if they needed a blanket, apparently it was 3 men and they ran off before police got there. When I went down there the man was on the floor and his leg was covered in blood.” Hampshire have issued the following statement and appeal: Police are investigating an assault in Lake Road last night (Monday, 5 March). Sometime between 8pm and 8.50pm a 36-year-old man from Southsea was found outside Cornwallis House with stab wounds to his legs.
