Manhunt Underway After Brutal City Centre Stabbing
Police have launched a major manhunt this evening after a man was stabbed in the city centre. Lake Road remains sealed off following the violent attack, which took place just after 9pm.
Violent Altercation Sparks Hunt for Trio
Witnesses say a fight broke out between four men in their 20s outside Cornwallis House around 8.45pm. During the scuffle, a black male was stabbed in the leg. Three suspects fled the scene on foot, disappearing before police arrived.
One local resident told us: “I went down to offer a blanket. The man was lying on the floor, his leg covered in blood. The three men ran off just before the cops showed up.”
Victim Rushed to Hospital with Serious Injuries
The stabbing victim was found bleeding heavily on Lake Road. Paramedics treated him at the scene before rushing him to QA Hospital at around 9.30pm. Hampshire police confirmed the man, a 36-year-old from Southsea, suffered serious but non-life-threatening leg wounds.

Detective Inspector Dave West pleaded: “We want to hear from anyone who saw the assault or suspicious behaviour around Lake Road last night.”
Chief Inspector Jason Kenny added: “Expect to see more police patrols around the area as we step up investigations and reassurance for the community.”
